Blazblue: Jin Kisaragi

"O Brother, where art thou?"

Blazblue has the best designs in the world!! Seriously, so many characters to choose from! XD

We tried really hard to stay true to both our reference images and the costume write ups the artists did up for cosplayers to use. Jin's coat and under tunic are made from heavy cotton drill and have had the crap interfaced out of them so they look nice and stiff! All the yellow edging is done using yellow wet look vinyl, as are the arrows on his sleeves. It was my first time ever having to do that so I'm really happy that they turned out looking clean and even! Phew!

The black turtle neck and pants are made from lycra, although the artist write-ups called for something akin to "wetsuit material" I didn't particularly want to boil alive all day! XD The belt and black parts on the sleeves and gloves are alll wet look vinyl as well as per artists instructions. These boot covers were my first time doing any that had patterns on them so they were hand-sewn for the greater part so they sat nice and neat!

The sword is part made by me and part by my friend G who helped in the base construction of it because I am a noob at props! It has about four layers of primer and three of paint on it

All the small silver parts are wet look vinyl as well which have been stuffed with a teeny tiny bit of filling so they sit up off the cloak a bit more There's a bit of detailing on the back of the cloak as well but alas, you can't have everything in a picture! XD

Random Lolz: We entered the Syd Animania cosplay comp on the Sunday, half an hour after rego had closed with no reference images or anything. It was a last minute thing and we decided we'd just walk on and pose but we somehow ended up wining runner up best group!!! XD XD Don't let anyone tell you walk on's are no good!!
